I did a lot of self portraits and photoshoots with friends in high school. It was probably the hobby that consumed the majority of my free time.

Went to college, got busy, as the story goes. Missed it, tried to get back into it through joining the photography team for a fashion editorial club my sophomore year. I had a lot of fun intentionally planning out two photoshoots, one about my own creative interpretation of the theme “movement”, and one for a written article. Lost time for it again until my final spring of undergrad where I did three photoshoots in the first week lol, and finally made a dedicated Instagram account for photography (proof by demonstration)

Photography is capturing a way of seeing the world. Beauty in mundane scenes, a way of framing, chasing intervals of light, movement, life, time.

  • Photoshoots inspired by songs!!! I’m not a very visual thinker, I have a constant internal monologue/stream of words…but some songs do trigger visceral, abstract images that I think would be fun to try and convey through photography

  • - artificial lighting, couch in the corner, strange posing (upside-down, sprawled), layered outfit
